About Me
Hi! I'm Leah Bader!
I am a semi-recent graduate of Georgetown with a Master's in Emergency and Disaster Management. I also hold undergraduate degrees from Penn State in in Anthropology and Global Health, graduating with interdisciplinary honors in Anthropology and Health Policy Administration. In addition, I earned a certificate in Humanitarian Engineering and Social Entrepreneurship.
I have international experience in Senegal, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Ghana, and Honduras. I worked as a program officer and researcher in the international development field. As part of an interdisciplinary team, I helped manage and implement several humanitarian entrepreneurial ventures across sub-Saharan Africa which included an at-home UTI test strip, affordable greenhouses, and mushroom production systems in address health and economic gaps in local communities. In addition, I was a public health research in clinical settings, evaluating program effectiveness at a regional-level hospital in Senegal.
I am currently a Lead Consultant at ABS Group, where I am contracted to work with FEMA HQ on various projects. I mainly work with the FEMA National Planning Branch on national-level plans, some of which have included the Cross-Sector Coordination and Support Annex, the ESF #14 Joint Operations Plan, and the Nuclear/Radiological Incident Annex. In addition, I have worked with other government agencies on an ad-hoc basis to review emergency and continuity plans. Outside of work, I love good food, Philadelphia sports, and spending time with my two Australian cattle dog mixes.
